OVIDIU WENCZ

Ovidiu is a seasoned top executive of both international and entrepreneurial major companies operating in Romania, in some of the highly regulated and difficult industries – Pharma and Food (meat processing), acting as CEO and President of the Board in some of the most representative companies active on the Romanian market (top 5) in the past 25 years. Combining a highly effective “hands-on” management style with a passion for developing organizations and functions, he developed a solid acumen in Commercial/Sales area, as well as Operational Marketing and Strategic Planning for sustainable growth. Farming, Production, Distribution & Logistics, Sales & Marketing, Budgeting & Financial Planning as well as top ERP (SAP/R3) and IT&C support platforms development had been under his direct management while acting as CEO/Managing Director for some of the best market leading companies he had the privilege to develop and run in the past years.

Ovidiu had recently moved towards business and management consultancy, assisting various companies in distress, while acting for a limited period of time as Chief Restructuring Officer for an investment fund with a portfolio of several SME’s. Providing solutions for “turnaround management” and adapting the business model as well as the organizational design for the new market realities had been on top of his priorities in his last professional projects.

Ovidiu had also been in the board of the Professional Associations of the above mentioned key industries (pharmaceuticals distribution/retail and meat processing), thus frequently meeting and working with the industry stakeholders, regulatory institutions, Ministries and Secretary. of States to improve the legislative framework, adapt and develop applicable rules, procedures and regulations, structure of prices, margins and tariffs, competitive environment, etc.

Ovidiu graduated the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania with a Diploma from the Faculty of Finance, Credit and Accounting, after that attending the intensive courses of a “Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing” at Kingston Business School in Surrey, United Kingdom, being selected and awarded a scholarship by the British Council.
